The Basilica of San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Procuratie and the Ala Napoleonica, which houses Correr Museum and Marciana Library, all face the square.
The square is filled with historic coffee shops such as Quadri and Florian, and with boutiques under the arcades of the Procuratie.
How to reach us
From piazzale Roma, Venice's bus and car terminus, you may take a water taxi that will take you Hotel Kette's mooring area or you may reach the hotel with the public boats (ACTV) and then walk.
By plane
From the airport of Venice Marco Polo (13 km) and from the airport of Treviso Canova (33 km) take the shuttle bus for Venice, get off at piazzale Roma and continue as stated under item By car / piazzale Roma. Or, from the airport of Venice's wet dock, take the blue or red line Alilaguna boat and get off at San Marco Giardinetti. Walk to the left on the bank until you arrive at the Actv boat stop San Marco (Vallaresso). From there follow the directions as stated under From the San Marco (Vallaresso) boat stop.
By train
Arrive at Venice's Santa Lucia train station and take the Actv 1 or 2 boat and get off at San Marco (Vallaresso) (stop number 15). From there follow the directions stated under From the San Marco (Vallaresso) boat stop. The total time of the trip is about 40 minutes.
Or with a water taxi you may reach the hotel's private entrance in only 15 minutes.
By car
Park your car in one of the parking areas of piazzale Roma or Tronchetto (to your right, at the end of the long bridge that connects Venice to Terraferma or land). Take the Actv boat n. 1 or 2 and get off at San Marco (Vallaresso) (stop number 15). From there follow the directions stated under From the San Marco (Vallaresso) boat stop. The total time of the trip is about 40 minutes.
Or with a water taxi you may reach the hotel's private entrance in only 15 minutes.
From San Marco (Vallaresso) boat stop
Take calle Vallaresso right in front of the pier. At the end of the street turn left onto salizada San Moisè, cross the bridge and turn right onto calle del Cristo, arriving at piscina San Moisè. You have arrived at Hotel Kette.
